It is just after nine o’clock in the morning on Sunday, October 19, 2025. The setting features low clouds drifting northward with winds out of the south. Rain is intermittent. The location is the Richard B. Russell Airport in Rome, Georgia. This is the third and final day of the Wings Over North Georgia Air Show. The 2025 air show season presented challenges. A crack was discovered in the left landing gear trunnion that attaches the landing gear to the wing. The left wing had to be removed. The trunnion had to be removed. The trunnion arrived without holes drilled into the structure to accomplish attachment to the wing structure. A jig had to be fabricated to ensure the holes were drilled in the precise location where they were needed.
