The DeKalb Peachtree Airport Airshow known as PDK Neighbor Day was very well st ructured. ATC did a good job handling all of the transient aircraft. A lot of very interesting aircraft were on display.

A number of years ago, I chaired an evening dinner featuring General Paul Tibbets as our speaker. A film crew from Hiroshima flew to Atlanta to capture the remarks of General Tibbets that evening. An Air Force Color Guard was on hand as the dinner meeting was called to order.

The Palm Springs Air Museum is a first class facility featuring a host of well restored and maintained aircraft. The presentation of the aircraft are complemented by displays outlining the history of American air power in the Second World War.

The Flying Heritage Collection is Paul Allen’s gift to the world and is an extraordinary collection of rare aircraft. My visit to the facility was a chance to renew any friendship with Bill Papa, a docent at the museum. This article will focus on some of the rare and unique aircraft on display at the facility.

The Historic Flight Museum on Paine Field in Everett Washington features a collection of immaculately restored aircraft with rich and varied histories.

Ensconced among the trees and mountains on the island of Vancouver in the province of British Columbia is the British Columbia Aviation Museum. The grounds are neat and manicured. The museum is located adjacent to a narrow road which winds along the southern perimeter of Victoria International Airport (YYJ).

The Museum of Flight can be described in one word – fantastic. No matter your interest in aviation, whether it be engineering, space exploration or history, the Museum of Flight near Seattle, Washington will satisfy your interests. Due to the shortage of time, I was unable to view all of the exhibits. However, some of the features and exhibits are discussed.

One of the highlights of each airshow season for the Dixie Wing of the CAF is the annual trip to Andrews Air Force Base. Typically, Andrews commits to the presence of many of the aircraft in the Dixie Wing inventory or owned by Dixie Wing members. Frequently the trip is made in formation with other aircraft which lends itself to a spirit of camaraderie and mutual support.

Ed Maloney, the founder of the Planes of Fame Air Museum, is an aviation legend. He founded the first air museum west of the Rocky Mountains in 1957.

The week before the Battle of Midway practice session had been a hectic one. I had to prepare for a deposition in Alabama, fly to Alabama meet with the client and co-counsel, take the deposition and then return home. Arriving back in Atlanta late on a Friday evening with the Midway practice session set for Sunday, I decided the best thing for me to do was to drop by the office on Saturday and run through the Battle of Midway aerial script and Flight Sequence Schedule one more time so that I could brief the pilots, our pyrotechnic personnel, air boss and announcers.
