Just Another Day Flying Formation

On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, the skies above Peachtree City and Senoia heard the roar of three North American AT-6/SNJ Texan Aircraft. These flight exercises are part of the training and proficiency activities of airmen in the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. Formation flying requires skill and sharpness as the pilots flying in close proximity to each other.  Included in this type of flying are “element takeoffs” where two aircraft take off from the runway, side by side. To fly with this level of precision requires that the pilot be in command of his aircraft. Participants in this formation flight were: Bob Heath, Clint Cottrell, John Hess, Jeff Clark, Pete Willingham and Alan Armstrong. The photos were taken by John Hess and Pete Willingham. We hope you enjoy the video images of the formation flight.
